PECÉM REGION
It is a region with consolidated infrastructure that, in just 10 years, received R$ 28.5 billion in investment and already has 27 companies from 10 different countries, generating more than 60 thousand jobs, both direct and indirect.
CSP - ANCHOR INDUSTRY
In 2016, the modern steel complex CSP (a joint venture between the Korean Dongkuk, Posco and the Brazilian Vale do Rio Doce) was inaugurated, which already operates at full capacity. With an investment of 5.6 billion dollars (which increased Ceará's industrial GDP by 48%), it exports steel to the entire world.
PANAMA CANAL
After the expansion of the Panama Canal, the Port of Pecém has been gaining increasing importance in the international logistics scenario. With a natural depth of 18 meters, it is on the list of ports in the world capable of receiving large ships (post-panamax). It is for this reason that in recent years this region has been receiving important foreign investments.
NEW ROUTE WITH ASIA
In 2018, the new Maersk sea route was inaugurated, connecting the port of Singapore to Pecém (the only destination in Brazil), which represents a significant saving in transport days compared to the traditional route around Africa.
